The Demon Hunter Kain Hiatus Is Over!!!
Good Morning Everyone,
Well it’s been almost three months since I departed, due to life issues. Well as you can see I have returned, along with Demon Hunter Kain.
First and foremost, thank you all for the support and encouragement, it was all heartfelt and very much appreciated.
Now, let me explain what caused the hiatus. On August 1st of 2014, my job of nine years let me and my co-workers go due to the company being bought out by another company. This was no big deal to me. I had savings and a severance package and unemployment checks to see me through. That being the case, I took a “little” break from the workforce and kept up with Kain and took the time to hang out more with family and friends (something I hadn’t had the chance to do as much while I was employed.).
However… I got too comfortable. Before I realized it February was upon me and still no job, or leads or anything, I stupidly squandered my time and I started to panic. I tried to keep doing Kain but I couldn’t focus on it, my mind was now focused and scared by my lack of employment. So I unfortunately put Demon Hunter Kain on hiatus so I could put all my time into finding a job.
As of this writing I am glad to report that I have found myself a part-time job with another one possibly in the works. The really great part is If I can get both I’ll still have time to keep writing and drawing Kain.
So there it is folks, I wasn’t physically ill nor my family in trouble, I was just too complacent and panicked when I finally realized my complacency. Again thank you all for the support and well wishes, it really meant a lot to me. And a really big thanks to you all for continuing to read and support Demon Hunter Kain.
Sincerely,
Burrell Gill Jr
That is definitely a drawback of sitting on laurels… it is so easy to keep sitting on them until they are no good anymore. Glad to are that things are more settled, and I hope you can pull in the other job prospect like you’re hoping! A hearty welcome back!
Yeah, I’ve learned my lesson. The second job is looking promising, I have a feeling i might hear from them this week. Thanks again for the welcome back 🙂
I did a similar thing the last time I got made redundant. Of course, I squandered my time READING webcomics, not making them but… Glad to see you’re back in step now.
It’s great to have you back and good luck with pulling in the other job prospect.
